In a press release issued late last week by The Lincoln Motor Company, the automaker proudly announced that the 2017 Lincoln MKZ recently earned recognition as a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. While earning a Top Safety Pick award is impressive, earning the institute's highest "plus" rating requires more effort than in years past.

To qualify to be named a Top Safety Pick+, vehicle's must pass all five IIHS crash tests with the highest possible score of Good. Additionally, they are required to have an available front crash prevention system that earns a score of Advanced or Superior. Helping the MKZ avoid collisions in both 12 mph and 25 mph tests, its Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection earned the superior mark.

Other advanced safety and driver assistance features available for the MKZ include a lane-keeping assist system, which uses a camera to detect lane markings and warns the driver if sensors detect drifting, and a Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert. If you would like to learn more about what makes the MKZ a great choice for your next luxury car, come visit Rowe Lincoln Westbrook to experience it for yourself. We will be happy to set you up with a test drive.
